Privacy policy

What YSF Live does

YSF Live is an English-language hobby/community project operated from the United States. It publishes directory and availability information for publicly accessible Yaesu System Fusion reflectors. Operator-level activity monitoring is limited to reflectors identified as being in the United States. Eligible U.S. reflectors are monitored automatically under an operator opt-out model rather than requiring prior owner opt-in. No voice audio is recorded, stored, transcribed, or sold.

Information we may process

For the full reflector directory, which may include non-U.S. reflectors, YSF Live may process reflector identifiers, names, country and language metadata, network endpoints, and availability status. For eligible U.S. reflectors selected for activity monitoring, the service may also process transmission timestamps, decoded amateur-radio callsigns, approximate transmission duration, and activity totals. Listings explicitly labeled XLX or URF are excluded from callsign-level activity monitoring, but may remain in the directory and receive infrequent availability checks. Basic request-security data such as IP address and user agent may also be processed to operate and protect the website.

Reflectors outside the United States

YSF Live does not intentionally collect or retain callsign-level transmission activity from reflectors identified as being outside the United States. Non-U.S. reflectors may still appear in the directory and may receive lightweight availability checks to determine whether the reflector responds. Those checks are not used to build operator activity histories.

How callsigns are used

Callsigns are displayed only in the context of activity observed on an eligible U.S. reflector. YSF Live does not provide callsign search, operator profiles, movement tracking, or long-term individual activity pages.

Retention

Observed transmission metadata may be retained for up to 30 days for reflector activity history and service troubleshooting. When a reflector owner requests exclusion, that reflector's activity events and callsign-level summary fields are deleted from the live database. Deleted records may remain temporarily in rotating private backups until those backups expire. Security logs may be retained temporarily as needed to protect the service.

Contact messages

If you email YSF Live, the message and your email address may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond, document an opt-out or correction request, or handle a security issue.

Cookies and advertising

YSF Live does not use advertising or behavioral-tracking cookies and does not run targeted advertising. The private administration area uses a necessary session cookie, and Cloudflare may use security-related technologies when delivering and protecting the site.

Sale of information

YSF Live does not sell personal information and does not provide observed operator data to data brokers.

Third-party services

Cloudflare may process connection and security data when delivering and protecting the website. Hosting and email providers may process limited service data as necessary to provide those services. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy terms and applicable agreements.

Accuracy, corrections, and removal requests

Network observations can be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect. Operators and reflector owners may request a correction, deletion, opt-out, or reflector removal by contacting [email protected].

This policy may be updated as the project changes. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
